The show is said to be set in the time between Mutant Mayhem and its upcoming sequel to help bridge the gap between them. It will be a more traditional 2D animated series, though the story will still directly tie into the movies. Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles won't be utilizing the same animation style of the Mutant Mayhem films.
